You can request deletion of your RentDera account and the data associated with it at any time — whether or not you still have the app installed. You can also delete parts of your data without deleting your account.
How to request deletion
In the app: open Settings (or Profile, if you use RentDera as a tenant), tap your profile at the top, then Account control → Deactivation or deletion → Request account deletion. That opens an email to us, already filled in.
Or email privacy@notils.com from the address on your account with the subject line "Delete my account." Either way reaches the same team.
Deleting your account does not cancel a RentDera Pro subscription — Google Play bills it, so cancel it in your Google Play subscriptions first.
What gets deleted
Once we verify the request, we delete, for everyone:
- Your account and login credentials, including a linked Google sign-in.
- Your profile picture and your verified phone number.
- Your memberships of every business — your own, and any landlord's you rent from — and any invitations waiting for you or sent by you.
If you're a landlord, we also delete the business you run in RentDera and everything in it:
- Every property, unit, and lease you've entered.
- All tenant records you've entered — names, phone numbers, ID numbers, and emergency contacts.
- Your dues, payment records, generated receipts, and expenses.
- Your business's contact details.
Your tenants' access to your business ends with it. Their own accounts are theirs, and stay.
If you're a tenant, deleting your account ends your access to your landlord's business. The records your landlord keeps about your tenancy — your name and phone number as they entered them, your lease, dues, payments, and receipts — are part of your landlord's ledger, not your account, so they aren't deleted with it. To have something in those records corrected or removed, ask your landlord, or email privacy@notils.com and we'll help.
Deleting some of your data
You don't have to delete your account to remove data. In the app:
- Landlords can delete a property, a unit, or a tenant record; cancel a month's bill; remove a charge or a meter reading from a bill; and delete an expense. Some of these are refused while they still anchor your ledger — a unit with a lease, a tenant with a lease, a bill with a payment against it — so the app tells you what to do first.
- Landlords can also revoke an invitation, or remove a tenant's access at any time. Once access is removed, that person sees nothing of your business.
- Anyone invited can decline the invitation instead of accepting it.
Something you delete in the app disappears from every screen, total, and report straight away. Our database keeps it marked as deleted, which is what lets some deletions be undone. To have particular data erased for good — or to delete something the app doesn't let you, such as a recorded payment, your verified phone number, or your access to a landlord's business — email privacy@notils.com and tell us what.
What we may keep, and why
We may retain a limited record of the fact that an account existed and was deleted (for example, to prevent abuse of the sign-up process), and anything we're required to keep for a limited time to meet a legal or accounting obligation. We don't retain your property, tenant, or payment records beyond that.
Google Play keeps its own record of any subscription you bought, under Google’s policies.
How long it takes
We aim to complete deletion within 30 days of a verified request. We'll confirm by email once it's done.
